This was kind of a treat for Cheap Dave. We had new neighbors over and they brought the movie. It turns out it was a movie I had wanted to see. So I got to see it and in the best Cheap Dave way, free. They had seen the movie and are big fans.

I have to say I wasn't as thrilled with it as they were. I wanted to like it more and while it was playing I was entertained and found plenty of HT eye and ear candy to make it a good title for just about any HT collection. But I had a hard time following the plot and it seemed to be overly long.

I did appreciate the level of detail in the costumes and sets of this movie. There was a lot of good deep bass and the picture was remarkably sharp. I liked that this was a quasi-sequel to Pitch Black but about the only thing that carries through is Vin Diesel's character. So it avoids a lot of the normal sequel pit falls, like basically repeating some scenes from the original for no reason.

So again if you are trying to complete your Vin Diesel collection then pick this one up if you aren't a big fan you might just put this on your Netflix list.
